Rule 122
District Forestry Coordination Committee
(1) Protection, management and sustainable use of forest resources, biological diversity and natural environment in the district as well as maintaining balance between development and environment: To facilitate and coordinate the work, there will be a district forest sector coordination committee as follows:-
(a) Head of District Coordinating Committee - Chairman (b) Head of the local level where the district headquarters is or Deputy Head of the district (c) Authorized representative appointed by the Chief District Officer (d) District Coordinating Officer - Member (e) Head, National Park, Wildlife Reserve , Hunting Reserve or Conservation Area Office -Member (f) Chief, Large Watershed Management Office or Watershed Management Office -Member (g) Chief, Plant Research Center Member (h) Representative nominated by the Chairman from among forest related industries within the district One member (i) Representatives of forest user groups within the district (maximum five people including two women) “Members (h). Divisional Forest Officer-Member-Secretary (2) If there is more than one Divisional Forest Office in a district, the Divisional Forest Officer of the Divisional Forest Office at the district headquarters shall be the member-secretary of the committee as per sub-rule (1) and the other Divisional Forest Officer shall be the member. (3) The meeting of District Kankshetra Coordinating Committee as per sub-rule (1) shall be held at least once a year on the date, time and place specified by the chairman of the said committee and as required.
(4) According to sub-rule (1): In the meeting of the district forest area coordination committee, the representatives and experts of the concerned bodies can be invited as per the need.
(5) The meeting procedures of the District Forest Area Coordination Committee as per sub-rule (1) shall be as determined by the committee itself.
